Reese had her best game yet, leading the Chicago Sky to defeat the Indiana Fever in front of a star-studded crowd
The stars were out to see WNBA rookie sensations Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark go head-to-head once again during their rematch between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever.
On Sunday, June 23, Jason Sudeikis, Chance the Rapper, Lil Durk, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson and Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes were among the big names on hand to see Reese and Clark, both 22, battle it out on the court for their third game against each since becoming WNBA players.
Chance, who was seated next to the Ted Lasso star, 48, reacted to being shown on camera during the game. “J Sudei got me tix to see the sky,” the rapper, 31, wrote on his Instagram Stories.
Although Clark and the Indiana Fever won both previous games against the Sky, Reese had her best game yet, leading the Sky to defeat the Fever during a home game in Chicago. She scored a new career-high of 25 points and 16 rebounds to snag the 88-87 win over the Fever, and notched a recorded double-double for the eighth consecutive game, extending her WNBA rookie record, according to ESPN.

Following her thrilling performance in the winning game, Reese told reporters, “This is what I do: I come out and perform. I do what it takes to win every single day.” Despite losing, Clark acknowledged that Reese had a great game against the Fever. “She ran really well in transition. She got a couple and-1s in transition, obviously, she played a really great game,” she said, per ESPN.
On June 16, Reese addressed the flagrant foul she received when she last played against Clark. After Reese was charged with a flagrant foul for hitting Clark in the head with her arm while attempting to take away the ball, she spoke out against the call during her postgame presser, calling it a “basketball play.”
“I can’t control the refs. They affected the game, obviously, a lot tonight,” according to Yahoo! Sports. “I’m always going for the ball. But y’all are going to play that clip, what, 20 times before Monday?”
Reese then questioned the lack of calls for the Fever, who went on to win 91-83. “I think we went up strong a lot of times and we didn’t get a lot of calls,” she said. “Going back and looking at the film, I saw a lot of calls that weren’t made. I guess some people got a special whistle.”
The former college rivals have fans eagerly awaiting each one of their WNBA matchups, and Clark said that the competition is what brings out the passion in the two rookies.
