Angel Reese will be bringing in a celebrity and getting Sky fans excited

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese stands next to Bulls legend Michael Jordan, flames in background

CHICAGO — The Chicago Sky snapped a four-game losing streak with their 83-72 win over the Dallas Wings on Thursday. Angel Reese made WNBA history by amassing her seventh consecutive double-double, the most ever for a rookie. Reese shared some gripping insights after the game, including one major proposition for Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

Reese spoke about the impact she and the Sky want to have on the Chicago sports landscape. She and the team want to have great influence, just as stars like Derrick Rose, Michael Jordan, and Candace Parker did with their past Bulls and Sky teams. Reese created more excitement by extending a game invite to Jordan.

“Being able to bring [increased excitement] back to Chicago [would be great]. I mean, I love Michael Jordan, and I hope one day he comes to our game and supports us,” Reese said during Thursday’s post-game press conference.

Jordan is arguably the most influential Chicago sports legend. He won six NBA championships with the Bulls and brought thrills to the city like no other. Moreover, Jordan is considered by some to be the best basketball player of all time, and his reach extends past the game into various business ventures.

Will the legend take Angel Reese’s offer and tune into a Sky game during the 2024 season?

Reese further emphasized that she and the Sky want to make the entire city proud by maintaining a winning culture.

“Love being in a city that loves all sports, not just football, not just men’s basketball, but also women. I think we’ve done a great job being able to bring [more attention] here. Bringing that winning culture back is what’s important. That 2021 championship meant something to the city, and I want to do it again. So that’s what’s important.”
