Jaylen Brown seems unconcerned with all the talk surrounding him leading up to and into the 2024 NBA Finals. Brown’s only goal is to assist the Boston Celtics in capturing their 18th NBA title. The Boston Celtics need two more victories to overcome the Dallas Mavericks and reach their objective.

Before Game 3, during an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Brown was questioned about his efforts to refute his detractors. If the Celtics win the NBA Finals, he is the frontrunner to receive the Larry Bird MVP award. However, the three-time All-Star is only interested in winning the title and has no time for his detractors.

Jaylen Brown said: “A championship, that’s more of like a team accolade. That’s what we play this game for. I guess what I was alluding to was more just how people, the discourse around myself and that’s what I don’t give a f**k about.”


However, he added: “What you do as a team, that’s what I do care about and that’s what I want to achieve. That’s what I want to be a part of and I think that’s what we all are here for,”

Jaylen Brown said wanting recognition early in his career was natural. However, as he’s grown older, he no longer needs anyone’s praise since he is more self-assured and skilled. Jayson Tatum also criticized media questions after Game 2.

 

The Material Cited by Stephen A. Smith Explains Jaylen Brown’s Unmarketability

Before the Boston Celtics advanced to the NBA Finals in 2024, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith learned information on Jaylen Brown from a source. Although the insider clarified why the Celtics star was unmarketable, other individuals, like Smith, believed Brown was underappreciated.

Smith said, “It’s not so much that he’s underrated, it’s that he’s just not liked because of his, ‘I am better than you,’ attitude. He knows it. It’s the same reason he is not as marketable as he should be. That’s what an NBA source just sent me.”

In response, Jaylen Brown urged Stephen A. to identify his source. On social media, Isiah Thomas spoke up for the Celtics forward and chastised the oddball ESPN broadcaster for even airing the information the source had supplied him.
