The Chicago Sky got their first victory over the Indiana Fever of the season.
Angel Reese dropped a one liner after defeating Caitlin Clark
Angel Reese finally got her sweet revenge on Caitlin Clark with the Chicago Sky’s first win over the Indiana Fever this season. The rookie took control of the game and led the team to a much-needed victory. That is not all. To add a cherry on top, Reese also dropped a cold one-liner while talking about her incredible game.
After being down by eleven points to open the fourth quarter, Angel Reese started the run that dominated the Fever and resulted in the Sky’s win. The forward scored 10 points in the fourth quarter alone showing her competitiveness in the game. Reese kept the same tough energy even after the game during the sideline interview.

Reese’s statement was certainly not far-fetched as her 8th straight double-double performance made history. With scoring her career-high 25-point performance, Reese also became the first rookie to score 25+ points and 15+ rebounds in a game since two-time MVP A’ja Wilson. The rookie added 16 rebounds to achieve the record.
Caitlin Clark also did her best by dropping a double-double herself but the performance was not enough to stop Chicago’s unreal run. The game was certainly a treat to witness, watching the battle between the two elite rookies. However, Reese had the last laugh by securing the win with just a single point.
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are going neck-to-neck for ROTY
The thrilling matchups are not the only competition between Reese and Clark. With their drive to win games, the on-court rivalry is also competing for the Rookie of the Year award. In the incredible batch of 2024 rookies, Clark and Reese are at the top of the ROTY rankings.
The duo are writing their names in the WNBA history books as Reese recently set the rookie record with her seventh consecutive double-double. The forward is leading her team to win in her debut year. However, Clark is certainly not behind as after her last performance against Chicago, the guard became the fastest WNBA player to score 200+ points, 75+ rebounds, and 75+ assists.
Clark’s dominance in all three categories has made her the frontrunner to win the award but the odds might change after Reese’s career-high offensive outing. It will be interesting to see where the rookies end up by the end of the regular season, as both are only growing and improving game by game.
