San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has offered a reaction to his landing on the cover of the upcoming Madden 25 football video game.
This year is a big one for gamers as there will be two premium titles hitting the market over the summer, with EA Sports also set to bring its college football franchise back after an absence spanning a decade.
Both games are scheduled for launch next month and fans have already been treated to all of the important details where the college game is concerned.
EA has now revealed its cover athlete for the next iteration of the Madden series, and it’s none other than McCaffrey.
This is a pretty big deal, as he’s become the first running back to make the cover in 10 years.
This is, of course, well deserved. McCaffrey led the NFL in rushing yards, yards from scrimmage, and touchdowns last season, making it to the Super Bowl while also being named the Offensive Player of the Year.
He took to X/Twitter to brand the development a “lifelong dream come true” after the cover announcement dropped.
Christian McCaffrey Enjoyed A Stellar 2023 NFL Campaign
The running back enjoyed one of his best campaigns in 2023. Despite not registering 1,000 rushing and receiving yards like he boasted in 2019, he recorded a career-high 1,459 rushing yards and 21 total scores to win his first rushing title and finish third in the MVP voting.
Christian McCaffrey was one of the biggest reasons the Niners went to the Super Bowl, rushing for 85 yards, adding 80 receiving yards, and a touchdown in the big game.
Still, he will now have to be wary of the “Madden Curse.”
