The football ace is seen with yellowed teeth, stomach churning facial scars, and a broken nose for his role.

And now David has shared a behind-the-scenes look at how the make-up team transformed him from billboard model to movie screen rough – spending two and a half hours on his new look.

“To see what the guys did to me was incredible,” Dave says in a video clip he shared on social media.

“The good thing about working with Guy – he’s a good friend of mine. You know he looked after me in many different ways. I trust him,” he gushes.

“My role is pretty small in this. And I had one or two lines,” David explains.

“I’ve been around Guys movies before and it’s a great place to be, you know? You kind of love that community feel,” he added.

Footage then shows the film’s star Charlie Hunnam providing gushing words – which we can only presume are intended to be about Mr Beckham.

“He’s been lovely. Really wonderful to work with,” Charlie, 37, states.

Guy Ritchie – the former husband of Madonna – is the mastermind behind bringing this latest re-telling of the King Arthur legend to the big screen.

The film is due for release in the UK on Friday 19 May 2017 – however it has been absolutely savaged by critics ahead of the release.

Film industry bible Vulture branded the flick “formulaic and dumb”, while Hollywood titans Variety called the film a “gaudy eyesore”.

David Beckham’s brief cameo has been slammed by Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan – who described him as acting like “the third Mitchell brother”.

Opening Monday’s episode of the morning news show, Piers ripped into the star after being shown a clip of him in action.

“I thought it was a very, very good performance. It’s Oscar-level excellent,” the 52-year-old said – with more than a hint of sarcasm.

He added: “Will David Beckham be able to make it in Hollywood? Probably not.

After attempting to imitate Becks, Piers said: “Well done David Beckham, you’re a brilliant actor. The Oscars are looming.”
