Columbus Short was blasted after he compared dating Black women with other races during a recent interview — and his response left him apologizing days later.

During an episode of the ‘Unqualified As F**k’ podcast, the ‘Stomp the Yard’ actor, who predicted during the show that he’d be “dragged” later, expressed his preference of non-Black women, citing single motherhood, fatherless homes, and new-age culture. Social media had a field day with the choreographer’s response, with many claiming the conversation was “useless.”

“We come to the 2000’s, and these women — Black women — were raised by single mothers, absentee fathers, fathers that are either incarcerated, dead, or just gone… that their mama said, ‘You don’t need no [man], you can do it by yourself,’ ” Short, 41, began, as the apparent non-Black host agreed.

“That energy comes into the home. ‘Unless you giving me this, doing this, doing that’ — there’s no respect of the man — the Black man — in that, by Black women. Black women, do not be mad at me. I’m not talking about all of y’all,” he explained.

The ‘True to the Game’ star also claimed that other races of women still “cook dinner, wash clothes, and clean the house” regardless of treatment because that’s what they’re “trained to do,” while Black women don’t know how to cook or vacuum, but want to “ride in a Bugatti” and “go on a yacht.”

The actor went on to mock Black women, imitating, “Who gon’ put money on your books” and “You want a cup of noodles? You want some Ramen?”

The comment section was less than pleased with his comments and expressed their disdain. “Girl, if you was tryna end his career just say that,” one Instagram user stated. “A useless conversation,” a second penned. “Why is this non-black woman asking this question,” a third user inquired.

‘The Shade Room’ captured a clip of Short claiming he woke up to fierce backlash due to Friday’s interview admitting he seriously offended Black women in a way that wasn’t intended, claiming the clip was “taken out of context” and was “clickbait.”

“It was deeper than that answer,” he said in his follow-up apology on Instagram on July 3. “I am truly sorry if that offended anybody, I wish it was taken in context but, you know…my opinion is also not always necessary.”

Short, who is currently starring in Bounce’s ‘Mind Your Business’ series, is currently married to Aida Abramyan, a non-Black publicist.!.!
