Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky grabbed headlines in Las Vegas on Tuesday. The visiting Sky beat the two-time defending champion Las Vegas Aces 93-85 in front of a star-studded crowd that included R&B legend Usher. Even on the road, the “Chi Barbie” supporters made themselves heard.

Reese did not disappoint her fans, who trooped to Michelob ULTRA Arena. She finished the game with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. The Rookie of the Year contender also anchored the defense that held Las Vegas’ usually prolific offense in check.

After the game, the “Yeah!” singer met Chicago Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon, who brought him to the team locker room. The eight-time Grammy Award-winning artist briefly exchanged high-fives with the players and posed for photos.

Angel Reese decided to take it a step further by asking Usher to echo his famous signature phrase. The exchange was just hilarious:

“Usher: Angel, baby

“Reese: Say Usher, baby

“Usher: Usher, baby”

The Sky forward and the artist burst out laughing after the back-and-forth. Chicago’s entire roster, when they had a group picture with the singer, also trolled him with the same signature line.

While it was Angel Reese who had the hilarious exchange with Usher, it was Chennedy Carter who he gave special attention to. The singer saw Carter put up the most impressive performance in the Sky-Aces games. Without her, the visitors might have slumped to their third straight loss.

Angel Reese and the Sky lost it when Usher entered the locker room

After the game, Angel Reese and a handful of Chicago Sky players met with Usher on the court. The singer also spent time reaching out to some Las Vegas Aces players. Most of them likely thought he was going to leave the arena.

Coach Teresa Weatherspoon, however, had some words with the singer and brought him to the locker room. When the “U Don’t Have to Call” hitmaker entered the premises, Reese and the rest of her teammates lost it. Shrieks of excitement and disbelief could be heard as he stood in front of the Sky roster along with Weatherspoon.

Usher smiled and told them:

“Congratulations!”

Weatherspoon told her players that she asked him who he was really rooting for. The pop icon’s presence clarified who he was cheering for during the game. They were in Las Vegas, but it was the Chicago Sky locker room that he visited after the game.
