Eric said that his father was a strong ally of the UK and whilst he was keen to praise the monarchy, he described Harry and Meghan as ‘on a little bit of an island of their own’.

He explained: “There will be no better ally in the United Kingdom than Donald Trump, I truly mean that.

“He loves this nation, he loves this country…he’s going to be the greatest president for the West the UK’s ever seen.”

The Trump family, he added, have long-standing relationships with members of the royal family.

But Donald Trump has been an outspoken critic of the Duke and Duchess since their split from the monarchy and move to the US in 2020.

He has previously confessed he is “not a fan” of Meghan and claimed that she was “very disrespectful” to the royal family and Queen Elizabeth II.

Asked whether his father would be in favour of making Prince Harry’s visa documentation public if he were president, in a new interview with GB News, Eric said he didn’t want to be drawn on the matter.

But despite this, he had a critical assessment of the Sussex couple in general.
