Courtney K. Shane has opened up about her postpartum journey after giving birth to twin boys, Sun Rocky and Son Travis Parker, in November 2023. Speaking on CBS Unlock, Shane shared her experience, emphasizing the importance of self-care and acceptance during the postpartum period.

Shane revealed that her focus after giving birth was on nurturing herself with warm and nutritious foods while prioritizing rest and staying indoors. She mentioned incorporating walks with the babies after a couple of weeks to get some fresh air. Creating a relaxed atmosphere at home was also vital for Shane, who enjoyed sipping hot tea and listening to soothing jazz and Christmas music.

In addition to maintaining a calm environment, Shane took precautions to avoid strenuous physical activity for the first six months, refraining from activities like running, jumping, or bouncing. Instead, she indulged in weekly massages called abanga, which provided her with a much-needed break while allowing her partner to bond with the children.

Shane explored various health and wellness products, including colostrum and collagen supplements, to support her postpartum recovery. Despite societal pressure to “bounce back” after childbirth, Shane emphasized the importance of being kind to oneself and allowing the body to adjust at its own pace. She shared candidly about the challenges of accepting her postpartum body, stating that it had given her four beautiful children, including her newborn son.

Acknowledging the difficulty of transitioning back to work, Shane admitted feeling unprepared during promotional photoshoots for “The Kardashians” Season 5, just three months postpartum. Despite having her baby on set, Shane expressed that being dolled up in makeup and heels didn’t compare to the comfort of her pajamas at home with her family.

In response to critics, Shane defiantly declared her love for her body and the journey it had taken her through motherhood. She encouraged others to embrace their postpartum bodies and reject unrealistic societal standards. Shane’s openness about her postpartum experiences resonated with many, sparking discussions about the pressures mothers face and the importance of self-love and acceptance during this transformative period.

As Shane continues to navigate motherhood and her career, her message serves as a reminder to prioritize self-care and celebrate the beauty of all body shapes and sizes.
