Taylor Swift watching Chiefs ring ceremony from afar

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have made a very sweet habit of flying across the planet to support each other over the past nine months, but on Thursday (June 13), Swift could not make the quick pond hop to help the Kansas City Chiefs tight end celebrate the team’s Super Bowl ring ceremony.

She had a great excuse, though: she was preparing for her second and third shows at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium in England, tonight (June 14) and tomorrow night (June 15).

The Chiefs gathered on Thursday at KC’s Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for the final celebration of this year’s Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers and to pick up their mega-bling rings, which each shine with 529 diamonds and 38 rubies. Always-dapper Kelce showed up in a red suit and white t-shirt, and while Taylor could not be there to celebrate with him, she dipped into the IG live feed of wide receiver Mecole Hardman’s partner, Chariah Gordon, to follow along.

The singer also jumped into the comments to express her excitement — according to screenshots posted by fans — getting hyped with a series of all-caps posts. “YESSSSSS,” she wrote in a compilation of the comments posted on X. That was followed by, “CONGRATULATIONS,” “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,” “JOINING THE PARTY FROM LIVERPOOL LETS GOOOOOOO.” The football-loving pop star who became a fixture at Chiefs games last year even took time to congratulate Hardman for signing a contract extension with the team, writing, “AND WE GET ANOTHER YEAR OF MECOLE.”

But, alas, due to the five hour time difference, Swift had to get some shut eye to prepare for Friday night’s (June 14) second Eras Tour show in Liverpool, so she signed off by saying, “Gotta go to sleep it’s so late here love you guys.” At press time a spokesperson for Swift had not returned requests seeking confirmation that the comments were posted by the singer

Andy Reid hilariously breaks silence on Travis Kelce request for early retirement to be with Taylor Swift

If Travis Kelce wants more ‘wear and tear’ in Kansas City next season, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is more than happy to give it to him.

Kelce discussed his future as a Kansas City Chiefs player earlier this week after being quizzed on retirement four months shy of his 35th birthday.

The three-time Super Bowl winner dismissed the notion that he could soon hang up his cleats, while even calling on Reid and Co to keep his work load high in the 2024-25 season. v

‘Wear and tear me baby,’ he told reporters. ‘I’m ready for it, man. Put the load on me.’

After hearing those comments this week, Reid issued a hilarious response to Kelce as the Chiefs prepare to ramp up their practice schedule in the offseason.

‘I don’t know if we’re going to back off on his [game] time,’ the legendary coach said about Kelce’s minutes next season.

‘If he wants to be worn out, we can help him with that.’

Kelce has spent all 11 of his NFL seasons in Kansas City after being selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 Draft.

He has since gone on to claim three Super Bowl rings, the third of which will be presented to him during a special ceremony for the team on Thursday night.

Despite gearing up for his 12th season, the iconic tight end is adamant that he will keep playing football ‘until the wheels fall off’.

‘[But] hopefully, that doesn’t happen anytime soon,’ Kelce said on Tuesday.

‘I really can’t put a timeframe on (retirement). I love coming to work every single day.

‘Obviously, I know there’s opportunities outside of football for me. You have to keep in perspective that I’m still a little kid when I come into this building, man.

‘I know I’m 34 years old, but I have a love to do this right here, in the middle of the heat in June. I love coming to work every single day.
