Wednesday night was a special one for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots organization. Brady was finally inducted into the franchise’s Hall of Fame, earning the coveted red jacket while also seeing his No. 12 jersey retired and hung in the rafters.

Bill Belichick pays emotional tribute to Tom Brady with heartfelt speech

A bevy of fans filled Gillette Stadium to see it all unfold. During the event, a video tribute ran in which Patrick Mahomes delivered a heartfelt message for Brady.

Patrick Mahomes’ emotional message for Tom Brady

“I just want to say congrats to Tom… It’s well-deserved, man. I appreciate all the advice you’ve given me, and especially the advice you gave me after y’all beat us in the AFC Championship Game. That put the stamp on all the hard work I’ve been putting in.”

But despite Mahomes’ good intentions, Patriots fans refused to not boo him when he came on. According to Mike Kadlick, who was in attendance, Mahomes got the loudest jeer of anyone that night.

It’s a bit odd when you consider that Mahomes didn’t really rob Brady of any important wins during their time shared on the gridiron. Brady’s Patriots beat Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs during the 2018 playoffs, and then Brady beat him in the 2021 Super Bowl while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But Pats fans may be concerned about Mahomes eventually catching up to Brady in terms of Super Bowl rings. There’s still a long way to go before that.
