Rashee Rice has decided to listen to Patrick Mahomes’ advice about learning from his mistakes. The 24-year-old wide receiver’s goal now is to only focus on improving his game.

Rice spoke with the reporters after the Chiefs wrapped up their practice at the facility. He was joined by new recruits Marquise Brown, Xavier Worthy, and returning playmaker Mecole Hardman Jr. who signed an extension earlier this week.

This was the first time Rice faced the media following his trouble-filled offseason that landed him in prison. He conveyed it was a mistake that will stay with him, but at the same time, he has to learn and move ahead of it.

I've learned so much from that. All I can do is mature and continue to grow. This is a step in a better direction for me.

Despite a section of fans demanding strict action against him, Rice found support from his Kansas City teammates. His focus is now on achieving the three-peat.

Accidents and stuff like that happen, but all you can do is move forward and walk around being the same person, try to be positive so that everybody can feel your love and your great energy.

Rice’s bad spell began after the police arrested him following a road rage on a Dallas Highway near his neighborhood. He totaled several vehicles and, as a result, was charged with one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury.

Additionally, he remains a suspect in hitting a photographer at a Dallas bar. The accuser later dropped the charges.

Rashee Rice has had a knack for attracting trouble

Rice attended SMU, where he played for the Mustangs from 2019 to 2022. He was a competent receiver for the program with 233 catches for 3,111 yards and 25 touchdowns in 44 games.

However, one mistake almost ended his NFL career even before started as Keyshawn Johnson highlighted. The issue in question is an incident with his former girlfriend and SMU basketball player Kendric Davis.

Rice and a few of his friends showed up at one of the games to question Davis. The situation escalated quickly as his friends started shooting at Davis’ car. Fortunately, she wasn’t inside the vehicle or the consequences could have been severe.

Rice will play his second year in KC. During his rookie campaign, he racked up 79 receptions for 938 yards and 7 touchdowns in the regular season along with 26 receptions for 262 yards and 1 touchdown in the playoffs.
