BJ Thompson’s agent has provided an update on the Kansas City Chiefs tight end following a scary medical incident this Thursday.

The team was forced to postpone training on the day after Thompson suffered a seizure and went into cardiac arrest during a special teams meeting.

Thompson was rushed to the hospital, where he remains unconscious, according to agent Chris Turnage, who told NFL Network the player is stable and his vitals are okay.

“BJ is still unconscious at this point, but he’s stable and vitals are good. His family asks for your continued prayers,” Turnage said in a statement to the Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Chiefs pushed their practice back to this Friday, with head coach Andy Reid expected to speak.

Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo addressed the incident at a charity softball game on Thursday.

“Let me say this before I say anything, I’m thinking about BJ right now,” he said, per Fox 4 KC.

“It was scary. I think the guys were a little bit scared, I know I was. But a lot of praying and [VP of sports medicine and performance] Rick [Burkholder] and his staff did a terrific job.”

BJ Thompson Is Coming Off A One-Game Rookie Season

BJ Thompson was drafted by the Chiefs last year after starring for Stephen F. Austin University. The reigning Super Bowl champions selected him in the fifth round at No 166 overall. He made one appearance for the team last season, lining up in a 13-12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers and making two tackles.

Everyone at Total Pro Sports is hoping for a full recovery.

Get well soon, BJ Thompson.
