After sustaining a possibly career-ending injury the previous year, Jamahal Hill returned to the UFC Octagon earlier this year at UFC 300 to challenge Alex Pereira for the 205-pound title.

Jamahal Hill called Alex Pereira’s post-fight celebration at UFC 300 “weak sh*t” after the UFC light heavyweight champion knocked him out. Currently, Pereira is 10-2 in mixed martial arts and 7-1 in the UFC. Meanwhile, Hill has concurrent records of (12-2) in mixed martial arts and (6-2) in the UFC.

To keep his championship in April, three minutes into the main bout, “Poatan” put “Sweet Dreams” lights out with a vicious, devastating left hook. The action had briefly halted due to a low blow.

UFC light heavyweight champion Pereira submitted Hill in the opening frame. The former champion was enraged when “Poatan” stood over Hill and gave the “Khaby Lame” celebration.

Hill addressed the unexpected fight-ending scene on Instagram almost two months later. Referee Herb Dean attempted to halt the action after Hill unintentionally delivered a low blow on Pereira. Pereira dismissed Dean with a wave, then immediately knocked out Hill.

In the co-main event of UFC 303, Hill was supposed to face Khalil Rountree Jr. However, the latter was placed on temporary inactive leave after testing positive for doping. Carlos Ulberg intervened at the last minute to keep Hill on the schedule.

The 33-year-old has expressed his anger at Pereira for celebrating after the knockout despite nearing the end of his training for his UFC 303 match against Ulberg on June 29.

Jamahal Hill Posted On His Instagram, “Now I haven’t really spoke on this but I went to Brazil and DOGG WALKED your guy in one of the most one sided ass whooping in championship history and after showed nothing but respect and paid homage!! I’ve never celebrated over an opponent I beat and even called out my fans for disrespecting Johnny Walker after I slept him!! But because I showed competitive fire and was excited to be back after an injury that could of ended my career y’all think this is was funny or cool!! @alexpoatanpereira you really setup a punch you couldn’t get to without a weird confusing moment and did some weak shit but it ok because you will fight me again and my eyes won’t leave you until your as stiff as Izzy left you in Miami!!!”

Pereira Hits Back At Hill

Alex Pereira shut him down in his post with only a single statement. Poatan wrote, “ You reap what you sow, chama 🔥”

The former champion refers to his unanimous decision victory over Glover Teixeira, Pereira’s head coach, at UFC 283 in January last year.
