Jon Bon Jovi’s American Idol Salary Demand: Multimillion Dollars

Jon Bon Jovi will replace Katy Perry on American Idol as a juror, but his multimillion-dollar salary may be a problem. The Bon Jovi vocalist is the current favorite owing to his music mastery and longevity. Radar reported recently: The uncontested top candidate is Jon. A source has long said the musician wanted a large budget for his appearance on the program. Some reports say he seeks $25 million in pay.

Really About Money?

Jon’s pal stated he’s not talking about hosting, but an Idol source added: Money is the issue. One must spend to obtain a real rock icon like him!” Jon would earn $25 million more than Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan combined if Idol executives grant his alleged requests. Bryan supposedly makes $12 million and Richie $10 million.

Steven Tyler’s Inclusion Failed
From 2010 to 2012, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler served on the jury. He was criticized by his bandmates. Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry claimed he didn’t want the band tied to Tyler’s business: “The reality show is meant to draw viewers to the station and sell ads. It’s better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is not what [Steven] would do when we formed this band. I don’t want Aerosmith’s name on his business. We’re not involved.” Tyler then acknowledged to having conflicting views about judging. He joined owing to band problems and told Rolling Stone that he liked and loathed the job, but it paid well.
