Celtics’ Jaylen Brown drops hilarious ‘Harry Potter’ confession about his single life
Here’s how Jaylen Brown benefits from not having a family.
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown was clearly ready for the NBA Finals, as he put forth an outstanding performance in the Celtics’ Game 1 win over the Dallas Mavericks. And how did he prepare? Not by spending hours in the gym or by spending time with loved ones, but by watching Harry Potter.
“I don’t have a family. I’m single, so I’ve been mainly watching Harry Potter."

Okay, I’m sure Brown did dedicate some time to the gym and watching film. You know, all of that stuff. But he chose a Harry Potter marathon in his downtime, and based on the way he looked on Thursday night, I don’t think anyone should give him grief for that.
Brown was sensational in Game 1, totaling 22 points, six rebounds, three blocks and three steals over 37 minutes. He shot 7-of-12 from the floor, drained a couple of three-pointers and went 6-of-11 from the free-throw line. His impact on both ends of the floor was incredible.
It was just the last phenomenal showing in what has been a brilliant postseason for Brown overall.
Through 15 games in these playoffs, Brown is averaging 24.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals over 36.7 minutes per game on 54.3/36.6/61.9 shooting splits. It would obviously behoove Brown to improve his free-throw shooting, but otherwise, he has been terrific.

If the Celtics play the way they played in Game 1 for the remainder of this series, it’s going to be very tough for the Mavericks to beat them.
Brown and Co. held Dallas to just 89 points in their 18-point victory and led by as many as 29 in the first half. Kristaps Porzingis was thoroughly sensational in his return from injury, rattling off 20 points, six rebounds and three blocks in just 21 minutes off the bench.
Boston also did an admirable job on Luka Doncic. While he scored 30 points, it took him 26 shots to do it, and Kyrie Irving was virtually non-existent with just 12 points off 6-of-19 shooting. The C’s can probably expect a much better effort from the Mavs in Game 2, but there is no doubt that the Celtics showed what they are capable of when they are at full strength in the finals opener.
It should also be noted that Boston did all of this in spite of its top scorer not even playing all that well, at least in terms of shooting the basketball. Jayson Tatum scored just 16 points and went 6-of-16 from the field and only attempted two free throws. Tatum averaged 26.9 points per game during the regular season and is recording 25.3 points a night in the playoffs, so, chances are, he will put forth a much better showing on Sunday.
The Celtics shot 47.6 percent and converted 16 of their 42 three-point tries. They held the Mavericks to 41.7 percent shooting, and Dallas went just 7-of-27 from beyond the arc.
Boston also swept the Mavs during their two regular-season meetings, so the Mavericks have to figure out the C’s.
Dallas certainly needs to find answers quick, or else it will find itself in a very big hole by the time Sunday is over.
We’ll see if Brown can deliver once again in Game 2 as the Celtics aim to grab a commanding 2-0 series lead.
