With a 105-98 victory in Game 2 on Sunday night in Boston, the Celtics grabbed a dominating 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. However, as with every close game, there was controversy surrounding the game, with many questioning whether the referees missed a crucial play in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter that could have significantly aided the Mavericks.

Following a late push by the Mavericks, Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals came down to the final minute after a relatively one-sided series opening. With less than two minutes remaining in Game 2 on Sunday night, the Mavericks narrowed their deficit to five points after trailing by as much as 14 points in the fourth quarter.

After another stop on defense, things became even more bizarre when the Dallas Mavericks had a fantastic fast-break opportunity that could’ve cut the lead to just three points.

However, Derrick White’s block on P.J. Washington gave them a chance to stop the Mavericks from making a comeback, but did they get screwed by the refs in the process?

The replay of PJ Washington’s attempt to score seemingly showed him being fouled, but nothing was called.

Jaylen Brown appeared to shove the Dallas Mavericks star in the back, and Derrick White hit his hand before touching the ball.
