Love Island fans accused Jess of recoupling with Sean just to make Ronnie jealous after she declared she is no longer ‘going to be in competition’ with Harriet on Thursday night.

The retail manager, 25, had been entangled in a love triangle with Ronnie, 27, and Harriet, 24, but put an end to it once and for all during her recoupling speech in the nail-biting episode.

Jess said: ‘It’s not been an easy decision, to say the least. I feel like from the beginning it’s  obvious that I had a strong connection with somebody in here.

‘But, an ultimatum was given and I’ve not received an answer on that. Obviously, while he’s still exploring other connections, I am not being made to feel second-best.

Ignoring Harriet’s eye rolls, Jess continued: ‘I’m the prize, and I should be made to feel like that, and right now, I don’t feel that way, and I’m not going to be in competition with another woman in this villa.

‘There’s a boy in here who’s kind, who shows some incredible qualities, and I think, although I’m not sure yet if there is something there, I think he deserves a chance to find that out.

Jess finished: ‘So, the boy I would like to couple up with is…Sean.’

Fellow Islander Samantha, happily paired up with Joey Essex since his arrival, had a hilarious reaction to Jess’ brutal speech.
