Being part of the Cowboys since 1989 hasn’t been a cakewalk for Jerry Jones but the veteran remains adamant that he is the best man for the job.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may be 81 years old but is in for the long haul. According to him, there’s no one better suited for the job of general manager of the Cowboys.
Ever since purchasing the ‘America’s Team’ in 1989, Jones has remained the one constant pillar through thick and thin. He was in Arlington when the Cowboys won three Super Bowls in the early ’90s, and he never wavered despite their almost three-decade-long run without an NFC title game.
As a matter of fact, the Cowboys have only won just five playoff games since 1996, the last time they were in an NFC championship match. However, Jones kept his chin up, fought through the business end of things, and became the richest franchise in sports. So, in his eyes, he is still the man for the job.
So hell no, there’s nobody that could f***ing come in here and do all the contract and be a GM any better than I can. The reason I don’t let somebody else be the GM is because I don’t have anybody that I will let do it to actually do it right. And they're gonna have to come to me, and because I know where it is that you're going to pay for it.Jerry Jones revealed as per Clarence Hill Jr. on alldlls.com
There are always bad days working at his office, from stalled player contracts to injuries. However, he has dealt with all of them with flying colors.
I f**king have had hundreds of [bad days]. I’m emotional about it sometimes. Well, running this thing, that’s who I want to make the last call. Now, when I can’t f**king think when I’m old and I can’t even do it… but I’m a long way from not being able to do it too.Jerry Jones said
Well these are quite the quotes from Jerry. https://t.co/YWmFKhdJEx

Jerry Jones kept the Cowboys afloat when the league was going through a tough phase
The NFL has changed over the years. Steadily, it became a sport that generates massive amounts of money through TV and sponsorship deals. However, when Jones bought the Cowboys, the financial picture of the league was completely different from what it is now.
Jerry Jones (Image via IMAGO)When I walked in this, nobody had enough money coming in. You all had to go get it from someplace else to feed the kitty. The Cowboys? You had to go get a million a month. Go get it each month from the Coca Cola business or a car business. It f**king sure wasn’t coming from the Cowboys.Jerry Jones added
Despite the ups and downs in his tenure as the boss of the Cowboys, Jones wouldn’t have it any other way. Maybe winning a couple more Super Bowls will help, and the first good news in a few days was the four-year $136 million extension of CeeDee Lamb and the scheduled visit of 4x Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook. Jones still has to address quarterback Dak Prescott and edge rusher Micah Parsons’ extension in 2025.
