GENERAL Hospital has released a new trailer for an upcoming episode.

In it, Michael Easton’s character, Hamilton Finn, is seen talking to his on-screen daughter, who looks visibly upset.

Michael announced that he was leaving General Hospital earlier this week.

“You have to take me with you,” his daughter, Violet, can be seen saying.

Hamilton just stares at her in silence.

Although the reason for his departure is not given in the trailer, Soap Opera Digest revealed where Hamilton is going.

Hamilton is going to an addiction clinic to “get his life back on track.”

The hardest decision for him might be leaving his daughter.

‘YOU WILL BE MISSED!’

The clip was posted to the show’s YouTube page and fans slammed the decision to let Michael go.

“I hope they don’t recast Finn. Michael Easton played that role very well,” one fan wrote.

“Michael Easton…You will be missed! I hope this exit was your decision and not that of the GH team,” said another.

“I truly hope that they bring Michael Easton back at the end of his rehab,” a third added.

DRAMATIC EXIT

Michael announced his exit on Instagram on June 26.

He stood outside the studio where the show was filmed, in darkness, before delivering his message to his fans.

“I’ve always been partial to the Irish good-bye,” he said in his post.

“That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone. But I thought you all deserved better. So I just want to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital.”

“I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family. I won’t ever forget you,” Michael went on.

He then walked away from the studio for the last time.

Michael has played Dr. Hamitlon Finn on the soap since 2016.

He did not give a reason as to why he is leaving General Hospital.

OTHER ROLES

Before General Hospital, Michael starred in other soap operas.

He played Tanner Scofield on Days of Our Lives from 1990 to 1992.

In 2000, Michael got a role on Port Charles and was on it until it shut down.

He then starred in One Life to Live until 2012.

General Hospital airs weekdays at 3pm on ABC.
