Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama To Be Joined by Bronny James Via NBA Draft, Predicts Analyst

Will it work on the court? No way to know.

Will it lure LeBron James to San Antonio? No way to know.

Will it be a box office bonanza? That is for certain if an ESPN prediction comes true.

Victor Wembanyama To Be Joined by Bronny James Via NBA Draft, Predicts ESPN

There are still those experts who wonder about LeBron’s son as a viable NBA player at all. But now Bronny seems to be settling in as a second-round prospect.

That comes in part as a result of James’ solid work at the NBA Draft Combine last month … and maybe in part because there remains speculation about his dad LeBron wanting to team up with him (an idea that both have tried to deemphasize).

So one site is offering up a prediction about which team might get Bronny.

That team? The San Antonio Spurs.

Writes the site: “James’ limitations as a ball handler and shot-creator could be mitigated alongside bigger playmakers such as Wembanyama, allowing him to operate in a more narrowly confined 3-and-D role that best suits him at this stage of his development.”

And more …

“His defensive versatility, open-court explosiveness, unselfishness and budding perimeter shooting are attributes that could be attractive to the Spurs, especially if he’s willing to commit to a two-way contract — like almost every player in this range will end up signing.”

It seems like a long shot that Bronny, as a second-rounder, will develop into a real NBA helper. But all things considered? It’s a shot worth taking.
