During the Nuggets’ Game 2 against the Lakers in the 2024 NBA Playoffs Round 1, the 42-year-old Jokic was involved in a fight at Denver’s Ball Arena. Strahinja appeared to hit the victim in the face in a viral video on social media.
According to Denver police, the altercation was reported the next day after the video went viral. The victim suffered bruises and cuts on his face and a concussion. He didn’t want to press charge but changed his mind later. Strahinja was served with a third-degree charge in July and explained that he was “defending an older man that he has known for a long time.”
What Does The Future Hold For Strahinja Jokic?
A Denver Court Judge issued a protection order that requires the 42-year-old Serb to keep his distance from the victim. The court also ordered Strahinja to return in October to complete fingerprinting and enter a plea.
This is not the first time Strahinja Jokic has been charged with a criminal case in Denver. In 2019, he reportedly shoved and choked a girl and also took her phone away when she tried calling 911. He was charged with a felony, misdemeanor assault, false imprisonment, and obstruction of phone service.

After fulfilling the condition of unsupervised probation and lasting crime-free for two years, the felony count of trespassing was dropped. Under the terms of the plea agreement, his charges of assault and false imprisonment were terminated. What lies ahead for the older brother of the NBA champion Nikola Jokic? This will be answered in October.
