One Boston Celtics player had a little too much, too quickly, during the team’s NBA championship parade on Friday.
Four days after taking down the Dallas Mavericks in five games to secure their 18th NBA Championship, the Boston Celtics organization got to party downtown in front of a crowd of more than one million.
During the celebration, cameras caught Celtics fan favorite Sam Hauser puking as he rode on one of the duck floats. To his credit, Hauser got right back up and raised his arm in the air to continue the celebration:
Hey, it’s not every day where you get to celebrate being the world champions. So go hard at it, Sammy…
According to the Patriot Ledger, more than one million fans crowded the streets of Beantown to celebrate the Boston Celtics’ first championship in 16 years. It’s also Beantown’s first major championship since 2019, when the New England Patriots won Super Bowl 53.
With the Patriots’ dynasty over, the Boston Bruins’ championship window closing and the Boston Red Sox in retooling mode, the Celtics are unquestionably going to be the hot ticket in town for the next few years.
2023-24 Boston Celtics Are Among The Greatest Teams Ever
The Celtics absolutely dominated the competition from start to finish, cementing themselves as one of the best teams ever. They ran away with the best regular season record (64-18) and had the No. 1 offensive rating to go along with the No. 3 defensive rating.
Boston only lost three postseason games on their path to victory: One apiece to the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been one of the league’s best duos for a half-decade now, but the arrivals of All-Star guard Jrue Holiday and big man Kristaps Porzingis made the C’s borderline unstoppable this year. And with all of their core players under contract for next season, Boston should enter 2024-25 as the overwhelming favorites to win it all again.
