“It’s All Bullsh*T” Dana White on Potential Pereira vs. Paul Matchup

Talk of a boxing matchup between Alex Pereira vs. Jake Paul is not being entertained by UFC President Dana White.

Jake Paul’s latest win inside the boxing ring saw him TKO UFC veteran Mike Perry in the 6th round. ‘The Problem Child’ then took to the mic to call for his next unlikely opponent.

Paul Poses Challenge to ‘Poatan’

In typical fashion for a social-media star, Paul made a big deal of his next callout. Paul facetimed UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira whilst inside the ring, telling the Brazilian that he wants him next.

“Alex Pereira, you said you want to box. I’m the king of this. Come over, we can make it happen. I want you Alex Pereira.”

‘Poatan’ immediately agreed to the fight, however fans know all too well that making big fights is not this simple.

Almost infamously at this point, the UFC do not allow for their fighters to compete in combat-sports outside of the organisation. The most leeway fighters have been given is the ability to compete in grappling events, however boxing is a no go.

With this in mind, boxing whilst contracted under the UFC roster is a not an option. Unless that is, you reach the stardom of Conor McGregor.

Dana White Laughs off the Callout

Asked about the idea of Pereira VS. Paul, Dana White doubled down on his stance whilst also clarifying that Paul is but an afterthought.

“I haven’t even talked to Perry in a long time, and I didn’t even know Jake Paul was fighting. I was on vacation in Italy, I had no idea.” White told TNT Sports.

“There’s all these stories that were written, it’s ridiculous. I stopped paying attention to Jake Paul when he lost to Fury, you know what I mean? It’s like when he fought somebody that was his age and actually boxed, he lost and I’m not sh*tting on the kid, I don’t even think about him anymore.”

He elaborated on his assessment of Paul by explaining how he and his team continue to pick the same opponents.

“Smaller, older, I mean it’s the same blueprint that they’re fighting older, smaller guys that, it’s just I literally don’t even think about him anymore. It’s all bullsh*t.”

Unimpressed, seems to be the biggest takeaway from White’s comments on Paul. A clash between Paul and Pereira, or any contracted UFC fighter, seems highly unlikely.
