NASCAR (DR)For many years, Michael Jordan was the owner of the Hornets in the NBA, in addition to having an important place in his former university of North Carolina. A legend of the Tar Heels has just revealed his feelings about the number 23.
The years go by, Michael Jordan ‘s aura remains. Still considered the best player in history by those who had the chance to see him evolve in the 90s, he also convinced some young people thanks to the broadcast of his documentary “The Last Dance”.
For example, Lionel Messi has only had great things to say about him .
And in addition to this almost divine reputation on the sporting level, the Bulls’ number 23 is also a person who wants to be discreet.
He speaks very little in the media, almost never shows himself in public, which considerably reinforces the mystical image that surrounds him.
It is for this reason that his players are often intimidated.
North Carolina legend cashes in on Michael Jordan
This was the case when he was still the owner of the Hornets, and it is the case at North Carolina, a university in which he left an indelible mark.
Interviewed in the podcast of the nugget Ian Jackson, who will also play on the side of UNC at the start of the school year, Armando Bacot was rather very sincere about his relationship with MJ:
One of the craziest experiences of my career at North Carolina was seeing Michael Jordan come out.
We had just won a game, but we were struggling in the game.
We were all sitting in the locker room when Jordan came out, and we were terrified.
Everyone was afraid that MJ was going to lash out at him.
If he’s going to criticize you in front of the whole team, how can you keep playing basketball like nothing’s wrong?
You can’t tell him anything more. The whole time I was at UNC, I just made small talk with him.
I didn’t want to give him time to criticize me. I was a little nervous around him, because he has this special aura. He doesn’t seem like a real person. Plus, I didn’t know he was that tall.
If Michael Jordan is impressive to fans, he is clearly even more so to those who are lucky enough to be around him.
Armando Bacot was a star at North Carolina for several seasons, so he could have gotten closer to No. 23 and learned from him.
But for fear of hearing criticism that would destroy his self-confidence, he preferred to keep his distance. That’s how influential Jordan is.
Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players in the history of the game, an icon around the world, something every North Carolina student knows. Armando Bacot may have been a superstar in the NCAA, but he was terrified of MJ.
