The former Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Ilya Samsonov sent a threat to Linus Ullmark about the first game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Ottawa Senators.

We saw many goaltenders change teams this summer, including both Linus Ullmark and Ilya Samsonov.

Samsonov, who spent the past two years with the Toronto Maple Leafs, signed a one-year contract valued at $1.8M with the Vegas Golden Knights, while Linus Ullmark, who was with Boston for four seasons joins the Ottawa Senators for the upcoming season.

In the most recent Stanley Cup playoffs, Samsonov and the Leafs lost to the Bruins in seven games, a loss that could still be tough for Samsonov. Even if Ullmark took part in only one game in the round, it could be enough for a rivalry to start growing.

Both goalies are set to meet on the ice on November 21st, with the Golden Knights and the Senators. Unless someone is injured, we should get the chance to see a great goalie matchup.

In a recent Instagram post that placed Ullmark at the 10th spot for the best goalies in the NHL, Samsonov wrote a comment warning him about their upcoming game.

We can’t wait to see how they both perform as they look to get a fresh start. In Ottawa, Ullmark could be in a position to lead the team who’s once again eyeing a breakout season. As for Samsonov, he’ll try to bounce back from a tough journey with the Toronto Maple Leafs with a team that has big expectations to win it all next season: the Vegas Golden Knights.

More to come.
