Jake Paul won’t sit on the sidelines waiting for Mike Tyson.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was supposed to face ‘Iron Mike’ at AT&T Stadium on July 20, but a recent ‘ulcer flare-up’ meant Tyson had to delay the bout.

A new date of November 15 was quickly pencilled in, and excitement continued to build about the strange fight between an ageing boxing legend, and social media star 30 years his junior.

According to a report from Happy Punch, Paul will still fight on July 20.

Ex-UFC star Mike Perry is the man who is set to replace Tyson.

‘Platinum’ suffered a knockout loss in his lone boxing bout in 2015, but since then he’s transitioned to bare-knuckle boxing and become a champion in a promotion part-owned by Conor McGregor.

The welterweight and middleweight fighter is 5-0 in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship after picking up high-profile wins over Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Michael ‘Venom’ Page.

Perry has been calling for a fight with Paul for the last three years.

Paul first crossed paths with the 32-year-old in 2021 before the former Disney actor was set to face Ben Askren in a fight that was billed as his toughest yet.

The pair had a six-round sparring session, and it started some social media beef as they both claimed to have got the better of it.

Perry was the back-up fighter for Paul’s clash with Tommy Fury, and when it became clear he wasn’t needed, he angered his rival by sharing a fake fight ‘script’.

The American was given another back-up role when Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, fought Dillon Danis last October – but again he didn’t get the call-up.

It appears he’s finally secured a big fight, although no one from Perry or Paul’s camps has confirmed rumours about the pair facing off next month.

All the focus has been on assuring fans that Paul vs Tyson will happen.

On Tuesday evening, Paul responded to talk of a potential fight with Perry by shifting focus to his future clash with one of boxing’s biggest icons.

He tweeted: “I AM FIGHTING MIKE TYSON ON NETFLIX AND I WILL GET THE W.”

A more direct statement responding to the Perry rumours is imminent.
