The episode has quite a few interesting narratives, like Sentomaru ordering the new Pacifista models to defend their creator (Dr. Vegapunk) from the Navy and World Government, and Morgans announcing to the world that Dr. Vegapunk is kidnapped by the Straw Hat Pirates, and they have gotten into an all-out war with the Navy.

However, the only thing that One Piece fans cared about the most in the episode that left them in emotional turmoil was when Bonney got to see her father in his worst state. The scene was heartbreaking, and the voice actors did a great job of portraying the roles of both Kuma and Bonney as fans had a lot to say about it.

Bartholomew Kuma and Jewelry Bonney’s Backstory Begins in One Piece Anime

One Piece manga fans know the importance of Kuma and Bonney’s backstory and how it is considered by many to be the most heartbreaking narrative of the entire One Piece series. And now, anime fans will also get to see the past of Kuma and what kind of problems he had to face since he was a child.

In episode 1106, Bonney manages to not only enter the Nikyu room but also find the paw bubble that was created by Kuma for Dr. Vegapunk to conduct research. As she discovers her father’s memories, she enters the bubble only to find a small child with scars and marks all over his body, indicating torture and beatings.

The child is Kuma, who was a slave to the Celestial Dragons. As Bonney approaches her father, she hears the child Kuma crying and saying that he can’t take it anymore. She soon realizes that the child is her father, and as she tries to help him, she sees a silhouette of her father, and the episode cuts to the next part.

One Piece Fans Are Not Ready For The Most Tragic Backstory

Although the episode showed only a glimpse of the emotional rollercoaster that is about to begin in the One Piece anime, fans still got chills from the voice acting of the voice artists who portray Kuma and Bonney in the scene. They truly adapted the sad and depressing tone that encircles Kuma’s past.

Some fans even stated that by animating the saddest backstory in One Piece, the creators are going to break its fans and make them feel the emotional pressure of Kuma’s past.
