After a dominant run in the group stage of the Men’s Basketball event at the Paris Olympics 2024, Team USA defeated Brazil 122-87 in the quarter-final clash on Tuesday. Anthony Edwards, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James have found themselves leading scorers for Team USA in the ongoing sporting extravaganza.

In the group stage, Team USA defeated Serbia 110-84 in their opener, followed by their dominant 103-86 win against South Sudan. James and Co. finished the group stage with a perfect record, defeating Puerto Rico 104-83 in their final clash.

Who Will Team USA Face In The Semifinals?

Team USA defeated Brazil with a whopping 35-point difference to qualify for the semifinals in the Paris Olympics 2024. In a rematch of their opening clash, the seven-time Olympic gold-winning side will face Nikola Jokic’s Serbia in the semi-final on Thursday, August 8.

On the other hand, Victor Wembanyama’s France, who defeated Canada 82-73 in the quarter-final, will face Germany in the semi-final. The 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup champions defeated Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Greece 76-63 to reach the semifinals.

Team USA Vs. Serbia: Head-To-Head

The semi-final match between USA and Serbia will be the fourth clash between the two sides in the Olympic Games. In the 2016 Rio Olympics, Team USA defeated Serbia in the first round and gold medal final match.

In their opening clash this year, LeBron James and Kevin Durant ran riot to overshadow Nikola Jokic’s 20-point game. The 39-year-old Lakers star registered 21 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists. Meanwhile, the Suns forward scored 23 points while shooting 8/9 from the field and 5/5 from the three-point line.
