Kallie Wright, the wife of rodeo star Spencer Wright, shared a heartbreaking obituary dedicated to their son Levi Wright.
On Friday, she shared the link to the Mortuary.org obituary on Facebook in memory of their three-year-old son, who tragically passed away on June 2 at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
‘Our sweet boy, Levi Spencer Wright, affectionately known as “Beans,” was born on March 24, 2021, in Cedar City, Utah, to Spencer and Kallie Wright of Beaver, Utah,’ the obituary read.
‘He passed away June 2, 2024, after a two-week stay at Primary Children’s Hospital following an accident May 21st doing what he loved most, riding his electric toy tractor.’
This comes shortly after Kallie shared her harrowing recollection of how the toddler was critically injured after driving his toy tractor into a raging creek near their family home in Beaver County, Utah on May 21.
In memory of their beloved son, the obituary read: ‘Levi was exceptionally thoughtful and considerate for his age, he was constantly thinking of others.’
‘His heart was pure, tender and oversized,’ the note continued.
‘Levi loved his big sister, Steeley, and playing with her was one of his greatest joys. They were instant best friends.
‘The verdict was still partially out on his baby brother, Brae, but Levi often asked to “hold baby.”
The obituary continued: ‘Levi was a die-hard Grandma’s boy, always asking to go to Gamma’s house.
‘He enjoyed going to church with Grandma and was a Sunbeam for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
‘Levi had mastered his colors, counting to 7 and early heavy equipment operation as Dad’s right hand man.
‘His Dad was who he looked up to most; he wanted to be just like him and was well on his way.
‘He had a passion for tractors, excavators, skid steers and all heavy equipment, even his music choice followed suit-he was always asking to play Big Green Tractor and The Excavator Song.’
At the end of the message in remembrance of Levi, the obituary read: ‘Levi’s family would like to extend a warm thank you to the volunteers and first responders that participated in his search and rescue as well as the attentive and compassionate staff at Primary Children’s Hospital.’
Levi is survived by parents Spencer and Kallie, sister Steeley, five, and nine-month old brother Brae as well as his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Just days earlier, his mother shared a post on Facebook detailing how she dived into the creek to rescue Levi after he disappeared beneath the fast-flowing waters.
He was driving his toy tractor on their land and crossed the creek, which divided the property between theirs and Levi’s grandparents’.
Kallie previously explained that the water in the creek ‘only runs through for a short time during the year and can change overnight.’
In her previous post, she said: ‘Levi did not do anything he hasn’t done before, but this time the water was at its peak and strong enough to push his tractor off the road into the creek as he drove through.’
According to a statement from the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, Levi was ‘quickly located’ and received ‘life-saving measures.’
He was taken to the hospital by ambulance before being airlifted to the children’s hospital in Salt Lake City.
The initial prognosis was devastating as doctors concluded he suffered brain death due to oxygen deprivation while underwater.
But his heart was beating on its own and Levi’s dad said the family ‘received multiple small miracles’ and doctors were ‘surprised by the strides he has made’.
He survived 12 days in the hospital with flickers of hope that he could regain brain function before his devastated parents shared they had to say goodbye and turn off his life support this past Sunday.
