The first plot details for Reacher Season 3 have been revealed. Anthony Michael Hall has shared new insight into his villainous character, Zachary Beck, and how his path crosses that of Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher in the season premiere.

While speaking with Screen Rant to promote his new film, Trigger WarningHall opened up about joining Reacher for its third season, beginning with how he felt about his new co-star, Alan Ritchson. “Well, first of all, I like Alan a lot. He’s a standup guy. He’s fun to work with. He’s very serious about the filmmaking aspect. I mean, it’s a television show we’re making, but it’s streaming all around the world. And I know that he’s put in his time; he’s 41,” the actor shared. “He’s a very nice guy; very humble guy. And he’s very personable too. He’s very cool with people on the set.”

Hall then confirmed that he is playing Zachary Beck in Reacher Season 3, which is adapting the fan-favorite novel Persuader (2003), the seventh entry in author Lee Child’s beloved Jack Reacher series. “The character is Zachary Beck, and on the surface, he’s like a kingpin of wholesale drug dealing.

But the truth is that it’s a front; it’s a cover for something a little seedier,” Hall teased. “I don’t want to say much more than that, but it was also an interesting dynamic because he’s not an outright villain [like] my character of Ezekiel Swan in Trigger Warning.”

Reacher Season 3 Premiere Details Revealed

While it’s known that Season 3 is based on Persuader, the writers have shown that they aren’t afraid to remix certain parts of the source material. For instance, Maria Sten, who appeared in the first two seasons, is set to return as Reacher’s ally Frances Neagley, despite not appearing in Persuader, meaning that the writers have found a way to work her into the story.

However, Hall has revealed that Reacher Season 3 will faithfully adapt how the title character crosses paths with Beck, confirming that Reacher will save his character’s son’s ass. “In the first episode, you see my son — played by Johnny Berchtold, a really talented young actor — gets roughed up in the town and Reacher comes to save his day in the way that Reacher does,” Hall explained. “Reacher comes in, kicks some ass, saves the day. From that point, my son Richard says to him, ‘Look, you should come talk to my dad. He can help you out, maybe put you to work,’ which leads to me hiring Reacher.”

Who Else is Part of Reacher’s Season 3 Cast?

In addition to Ritchson, Hall, and Berchtold, Reacher Season 3 stars Sonya Cassidy (The Man Who Fell to Earth), Roberto Montesinos (Father Stu), Daniel David Stewart (For All Mankind), and Olivier Richters (Black Widow), the latter of whom is playing Beck’s deranged bodyguard Paulie.

Brian Tee (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) is also part of the season, with Hall describing Tee’s character as someone who “steps out of the shadows, and you realize that the two of us are into some dirty dealings.”

Reacher Season 3 is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2025.
