SUMMARY

One Piece’s longevity has often made Eiichiro Oda keep mysteries until the very end, which often leads to the creation of fan theories.
One of the recent fan theories have claimed that Roronoa Zoro might have to sacrifice something precious to him in order to become the World’s Greatest Swordsman.
He might be following the path of Admiral Fujitora and Dracule Mihawk, after he decided to take up Enma as his new blade.

One Piece has had several mysteries over the years. While some were revealed by Eiichiro Oda, others led to the creation of fan theories. Due to One Piece’s plot branching out in all directions with the massive number of characters, several interesting fan theories have come up over two decades. The Wano arc proved to be a stepping-stop in Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to become the Pirate King.

The arc saw Roronoa Zoro wielding one of Kozuki Oden’s two swords, Enma. Even though he was an able swordsman, Zoro had a lot of problems wielding one of the 21- Special Grade Swords. At one point, it almost drained his entire Haki and turned his right hand into a skeleton form. It gave rise to the fan theory surrounding the Special Grade Swords requiring some hefty fees from its users.

Special Grade Swords Might Have Caused Fujitora To Go Blind

Admiral Fujitora once revealed that he blinded himself since the world was too cruel. Even though he said this, he did not mention what kind of cruelty he was dealing with. One Piece’s latest fan theory suggests since his blade belonged to Special Grade, it asked him for the eyes so that he could trust it blindly. It further explains that all the Special Grade Swords might have asked something or the other from its users to let the handlers unlock their full potential.

Fujitora does not believe in Akainu’s absolute justice and may have blinded himself so that he can use the utmost potential of his blade and put an end to the cruel world in the proper manner. Thatonepiecetalk also explained how Dracule Mihawk might have known Conqueror’s Haki and his sword, Yoru, asked for that. It describes how Mihawk is powerful and can go toe to toe with a Yonko without Conqueror’s Haki.

Fujitora and Mihawk have unlocked the true potential of their swords, and the fan theory can make a One Piece fan think hard about the true nature of the swords. Even though each sword has different desires, they always want something precious.

Roronoa Zoro Might Be The Next Victim In One Piece

The fan theory claims the Special Grade Sword always wants something in return for granting its true potential to its handlers. Following it, Fujitora and Mihawk might already have paid the hefty fees. Next, it might be Roronoa Zoro’s turn. Enma means ‘The King of Hell,’ so it is natural for a king to ask for something grand. Zoro and Enma’s journey has just begun, so it might be a long way before he fully masters it.

But before that happens, he might have to sacrifice something. It was never stated how the swordsman lost his left eye. It might be a consequence of wielding Shusui. Shusui asked for the left eye to let him control it. For the moment, these are all fan theories. Eiichiro Oda will most likely tie up all the loose ends before wrapping up One Piece, and Roronoa Zoro’s left eye is a massive mystery. Only time will tell whether the Special Grade Swords ask the users for something special in return for their usage.
