Coronation Street viewers will finally learn what Roy Cropper’s new prison inmate Roscoe is up to next week it seems, as spoilers have teased a twist.
Despite Roscoe being introduced as a new pal for Roy in prison, fans were convinced he was up to no good. Roscoe made his debut last week and revealed he was an old friend of Roy’s neighbour Stu Carpenter.
Roscoe offered to look out for Roy at Stu’s request leaving him thrilled, but viewers were convinced there was more to the character. Some were sure he would be linked to returning villain Griff, who wants revenge on Roy over Lauren Bolton’s apparent murder.
Griff is the friend of Lauren’s dad, and believing Roy has killed her – the crime he is in prison for – he wants him to pay. Scenes next week will show Griff confront Roy alone in his cell, leaving him in a life or death battle as Griff has a weapon and prepares to harm Roy.
But the spoilers also appear to confirm the truth about Roscoe, and what he’s really up to. Fans may be right after all, as one spoiler in particular sees Roscoe and Griff communicating.

Not only that but Griff gives him an order, which he carries out. Perhaps Roscoe is afraid of possible new top dog Griff, but the spoiler suggests the pair are in cahoots after all, with Roscoe seemingly targeting Roy all along.
The spoiler for a scene next week reveals: “Griff orders Roscoe to lure Roy to the prison library. As Roy heads off to the library with Roscoe, Griff enters his empty cell.” So it seems Roscoe lures out Roy, emptying his cell so that Griff can sneak in unspotted and take his revenge.
But is it all a misunderstanding, and will Roscoe regret betraying Roy and Stu? Viewers will have to tune in next week to find out Roy’s fate, as Griff holds a knife to him and threatens him.
Next week also brings the moment we finally find out what happened to Lauren amid her presumed murder, months on from her vanishing. We also find out which character was behind her disappearance, so might Roy’s freedom be on the cards?
