Barstol Sports owner Dave Portnoy was hyped following Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s impressive 92-75 win over the Seattle Storm on Sunday. Portnoy is anticipating a $10 million payout after betting on the Fever to win the 2024 WNBA championship.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Portnoy was excited to share the news that the Fever were beating another above .500 team. He was feeling good since he could win $10 million if Indiana takes it home this year. The odds are against Clark and company, but “El Presidente” feels confident.
“This team, this Indiana Fever team. This is Seattle, they are like 17-9, one of the better teams in the league. We are blowing them out. Up 20, blowout. Caitlin Clark putting up another 20 and 10 assists, whatever. You got Lexie Hull from deep, we got everybody from deep,” Portnoy said.

He added:
“I’m telling you. I hope you jumped in. The $10 million man. What’s the score? 87-71. Check the odds now on the Fever to win the championship.”
Dave Portnoy has been a huge fan of Caitlin Clark since her college days for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Portnoy has defended Clark from her haters and has always been hyped about the Indiana Fever rookie. It has now reached a point wherein El President bet $100,000 on the team to win it all.
It was largely due to the rest, which was certainly needed by Clark. It was her first real break since the start of last year’s college basketball season. She’s more confident, and her stroke looked pretty good against the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm.

Caitlin Clark currently leads the league in assists per game and total assists this season. Clark has been a tremendous playmaker for the Indiana Fever as her shot and efficiency continue to improve. She also continued to make history by breaking another WNBA rookie record.
According to ESPN, Clark broke the record for most assists by a rookie in a season previously held by Ticha Penicheiro, who had 224 in 1998. The Fever star needed just three assists to make history but ended up finishing with nine assists to bring her total to 232 with 12 games remaining in the season.
“If you’d told me I was going to lead the league in assists coming in here in my rookie season, I probably would have told you that you were lying. But I take a lot of pride in that. I want to set my teammates up first and foremost, because that’s going to help you have the most successful team,” Clark said.
