SUMMARY

Chapter #1115 of One Piece confirms the existence of the Ancient Weapon Uranus and identifies the World Government as its possessor.
Vegapunk reveals that the rise in sea levels during the Void Century was caused by the Ancient Weapons, confirming the destructive power of Uranus.
The World Government’s plan may involve using Uranus to flood the world and eliminate devil fruit users, making Poseidon and Pluton crucial in the Final Saga.

Eiichiro Oda is finally beginning to explain One Piece‘s biggest mysteries that have haunted fans for decades through Vegapunk’s message, which has now also indirectly verified the existence of the final Ancient Weapon, Uranus, and whose possession it is in. The latest chapter finally confirms a major suspicion about the third Ancient Weapon which had eluded the story thus far, revealing that it has indeed been staring fans in the face for quite some time.

Chapter #1115 of One Piece finally confirms that the weapon used to destroy Lulusia was in fact the Ancient Weapon Uranus. In the chapter, Vegapunk reveals that the conflict during the Void Century caused sea levels to rise all around the world by 200 meters, sinking large landmasses and leaving only tiny scattered islands as the world of One Piece is known today.

Vegapunk talks about the rising sea levels that confirmed his suspicions that the world was sunk using the ancient weapons in one piece

Vegapunk rules out the possibility of the flood being caused by natural means and suspects it was a man-made calamity, stating that his suspicions were confirmed a few days earlier after observing the recent rise in sea levels. He thus concludes with the revelation that the disaster was caused by the Ancient Weapons, indirectly confirming that the weapon that wiped out Lulusia and similarly caused the sea levels to rise is indeed an Ancient Weapon.

While Poseidon’s existence was revealed back on Fishman Island and Pluton was also partially revealed at the end of Wano, Uranus was the last remaining Ancient Weapon that had yet to be heard from. Judging by Vegapunk’s description of the Void Century, it appears as though the World Government has held on to Uranus ever since then but likely could not use it all these years as its mysterious power source had run out.

This revelation also confirms yet again that the Mother Flame created by Vegapunk is only the power source or the fuel for Uranus, not the name of the mysterious weapon used by Imu as many fans had assumed until very recently.

More importantly, the latest chapter highlights just how crucial the Mother Flame is to the World Government as well as how dangerous it could be if they manage to retrieve it from Egghead. According to Doflamingo in chapter #1114, most major cities in the world of One Piece will be easily submerged if the sea levels rise by just another five meters.

Judging by how Imu nonchalantly crossed Lulusia off the map, the World Government has no qualms about using the Ancient Weapon, and using it just another five times shouldn’t be very difficult. The world of One Piece is indeed going to sink just as Vegapunk claimed at the very start of his message, which may be the intended goal of the World Government.

Uranus is a Major Part of the World Government’s Evil Plan

It cannot be a coincidence that the 200-meter rise in sea levels has helped the World Government keep its secrets for hundreds of years. If the World Government’s plans to conduct a great cleansing are to be taken seriously, then flooding the world of One Piece may be an outcome they truly desire instead of a side effect of using Uranus.

Interestingly, many cultures and beliefs across the world have some version of a story involving a great flood. In Christianity for example, the great flood is said to have cleansed the world of evildoers and sinners. The World Government’s plans for a great cleansing may follow the same path, seeing as the series has even made a reference to Noah in the form of the giant ark at Fishman Island.

It is still unclear what the World Government seeks to accomplish from this plan, though one interesting theory is that the they may be planning to curb the existence of devil fruit users (who coincidentally do not have the ability to swim) by flooding the world with seawater.

Nonetheless, the information regarding Poseidon and Pluton is more precious now than ever before, as the outcome of the Final Saga may boil down to who can get their hands on them the fastest. With Caribou intending to share information about the Ancient Weapons with Blackbeard, One Piece‘s final battle may end up being an epic three-way between Luffy, Blackbeard and the World Government
