As the regular season starts in a day or so, the friction between Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb remains unresolved. An Instagram post comes amid the holdout as he and Jerry Jones haven’t come to a conclusion regarding the star.
Lamb joined the Cowboys after the latter picked him as 17th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. In the same year, he signed a 4-year, $14.01 million contract with the team, with a $7.7 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option. As the holdout continues, HC Mike McCarthy is however confident that there will be a decision soon. He stated that there’s an urgency on both sides.
Lamb had earlier posted a video on how he’s getting the work done despite no calls yet from the Cowboys. Lamb took out Instagram again to show that he is in perfect form and grabbed sympathetic responses from the fans. The post included multiple pictures of the WR working out.
I’m working hard so my family can chill, I came out that part, where they don’t let you live. Give it my heart, cause it gave me sum real......Still keep it Trimm.CeeDee Lamb wrote as caption
Fans react to Jerry Jones stalling on CeeDee Lamb
Fans and critics alike are questioning the slow-paced actions of Jerry Jones in the lead-up to the season. The painfully slow reaction from the Dallas management is costing them money as well. Ahead of this offseason, only one WR had been making over $28 million, now there are five.

Lamb has rejected the $33 million contract from the Dallas outfit and requested a Justin Jefferson deal or no negotiation. The Cowboys could have settled for a closer amount to $28m way earlier before Vikings and Jefferson flipped the market and settled a $35m benchmark.
Dallas Cowboys will start their 2024 season campaign against the Cleveland Browns next Sunday (September 8) at the FirstEnergy Stadium. Cowboys, deemed to be ninth-best odds to win the Super Bowl, will need the star receiver soon as the Browns arrive with Deshaun Watson and Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski.
