Jake Paul has been warned that he’s making a grave error by agreeing to fight Mike Perry after his bout with Mike Tyson was postponed.

Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, was originally set to face heavyweight legend Tyson on July 20. However, the contentious match has been delayed until November 15 due to ‘Iron Mike’ suffering an ulcer flare-up during a flight last month, leading to him withdrawing from the fight on medical advice.

Despite the postponement, Paul is keen to keep active and is expected to still step into the ring on July 20 against Perry, a former UFC star who has transitioned to bare-knuckle boxing. UFC icon Michael Bisping believes Paul may have underestimated Perry by agreeing to this short-notice fight.

Bisping expressed his concerns on his YouTube channel, stating: “I say that he has made a big mistake here,” He continued: “The reason that he Called out Tommy Fury is because he is a YouTube star and he has the name Fury, he thought he could beat him. He didn’t beat him, so he went back to people like Nate Diaz. When you’re talking about Mike Perry, he is a savage.”

He added: “He’s got good technique, when you look at the boxing of Jake Paul. Even though he was going up against Mike Tyson, there was a chance and danger that he would lose that fight in devastating fashion. He thinks Mike Perry is easy work, he thinks he is going to go out there and beat him but he’s wrong. Mike Perry is a fighter, there isn’t a fight that he won’t take. He is the epitome of a real fighter.

“When you talk about Mike Perry, the fact that he’s beaten guys like Luke Rockhold and Michael ‘Venom’ Page shows that he is making a mistake. Jake Paul has made a tremendous mistake because Mike is a real fighter and he is going to go right at Jake. The man has got a chin and the fire still burns.”

Despite not having competed in a professional fight for nearly two decades, Tyson will be stepping into the ring with Paul this November at the age of 58. The boxing icon will need to pass brain and heart scans to qualify for the fight, but he maintains that he is in good health despite his recent medical scare.
