The Chicago Bulls have been actively seeking to trade their star player, Zach LaVine, in an effort to rebuild their roster. NBA insider Joe Cowley recently shared insights into the Bulls’ strategy, revealing that the team hopes to attach two second-round picks in potential trades to make LaVine’s contract more appealing to other teams.

The hope in making the sign-and-trade for DeRozan is getting two second round picks back that can now be attached to the LaVine package. But still it’s a long shot and the market has been screaming for over a year that there is not a lot of interest in LaVine,” Cowley reported.

Despite LaVine’s scoring ability, his hefty contract has deterred potential suitors. The Bulls are now in a tough spot. They are trying to find a solution that will allow them to move forward with their rebuilding plans.

LaVine is currently under a five-year, $215 million contract that expires after the 2026–27 season. Nevertheless, he has not attracted much interest from other teams. Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report also noted the lack of market demand for LaVine.
