According to a recent post by Canada Basketball on X (formerly known as Twitter), Team Canada announced its 20 players for the training camp roster for the Paris 2024 Olympics on Wednesday. With just one month left until the Paris Olympics, Team Canada impressed everyone by including some dominant players on the list.

The Team Canada training camp roster includes some well-known players such as Dillon Brooks of the Houston Rockets, Zach Edey, a prospect for the 2024 NBA Draft, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the star player of the Oklahoma City Thunder who finished 3rd in the KIA MVP award voting this season, and Jamal Murray, the guard for the Denver Nuggets.

Some other famous players on Team Canada’s training camp roster include Andrew Nembhard of the Indiana Pacers, Kelly Olynyk and R.J. Barrett of the Toronto Raptors, Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors, and Luguentz Dort of the OKC Thunder.

Team Canada in Search of First Olympic Gold Medal

Team Canada had not won an Olympic medal since 1936, when they took home the silver in Germany. However, they recently won a bronze FIBA World Cup 2023 bronze medal. They have also won two silver and four bronze medals in the history of the FIBA AmeriCup tournament. Additionally, they have won one gold medal, four silver medals, and four bronze medals in the history of the Summer Universiade tournament.

Team Canada will hold its training camp in Toronto from June 28 to July 7. After the camp, the team will travel to Las Vegas to play an exhibition match against Team USA on July 10. Additionally, Canada has exhibition matches scheduled against France and the winner of Puerto Rico’s Olympic qualification campaign on July 19 and 21, respectively. Australia, Spain, Greece, and Canada will compete in Group A at the Summer Olympics.
