The San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers team up in a suggested mock trade involving Keldon Johnson.
The San Antonio Spurs have been at the center of pretty much every NBA offseason rumor under the sun, as every draft rumor, mock trade, or free agent murmuring seems to have the Spurs target a point guard to pair with Victor Wembanyama.
The Portland Trail Blazers are in dire need of young wing help to supplement their young backcourt of Scoot Henderson, SHaedon Sharpe, and Anfernee Simons, although Simons is rumored to be on the trade block.
In a recent mock trade, Keldon Johnson would be shipped off to Portland in a winning move for both franchises.

The trade proposal is rather straightforward: the Spurs need a point guard, and the Blazers need a wing, so the Spurs receive Malcolm Brogdon and the 14th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft for Johnson.
The Spurs would enter the 2024-25 season with Wembanyama, Sochan, and Vassell all definite starters, with Tre Jones, Julian Champignie, Zach Collins, Dominick Barlow, Malaki Branham, and Blake Wesley filling in the gaps. However, they would still have the fourth, eighth, and 14th overall picks in the draft to bolster their roster with young talent.
With those three lottery picks, the Spurs could select a starting quality point guard, an athletic wing to pair with Vassell, and a shooting threat.
Rob Dillingham, Devin Carter, Ron Holland, Dalton Knecht, Reed Sheppard, Matas Buzelis, and Stephon Castle, among others, would all be possibilities.
Brogdon, meanwhile, is an established veteran presence who could help mentor the young point guard the Spurs seem likely to draft, and could play safe, valuable minutes next to Wembanyama to foster his development. Portland is in need of a wing, the Spurs need backcourt talent. While Simons is the more attractive trade target, this deal moves the needle for both teams.
