The New York Rangers have placed forward Barclay Goodrow on waivers according to insider Elliotte Friedman.

Well, that’s one way of clearing cap space for GM Chris Durry of the New York Rangers after placing forward Barclay Goodrow on waivers.

Goodrow, has another 3 years left on his 4.6M dollar AAV. In 80 games this season, Goodrow put up solely 12 points.

A bit more:

Clearly, NYR doing this solely for cap reasons, seeing if there is another team interested.
Goodrow 6 goals in 16 playoff games, that’s his time of year

Known for his defensive game, he has struggled production wise with the Rangers and it won’t do the job for that price tag.

It’s clear that the New York Rangers are looking to get some cap space for some free agents or a potential trade.

Curious to see which team puts a claim if any.
