Anaheim Ducks center Trevor Zegras was reportedly spotted leaving a New York gym with Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis.

The encounter has reignited rumors that Zegras could be on his way out of Anaheim. The 23-year-old was involved in trade rumors this past season as his relationship with the Ducks reportedly began to deteriorate. He also dealt with significant injury problems, getting into just 31 games. He recorded just 9 goals and 15 points in those games, and did not appear to be himself.

«My sources tell me that the guy he talked to the most is named Trevor Zegras. And then, they saw each other at the gym, they chatted, and they left together. I don’t know if they went out to eat, but Martin St-Louis and Trevor Zegras left the gym together, arm in arm, ‘Buddy buddy’… Listen, maybe it means nothing at all!»

«Martin St-Louis and Trevor Zegras left the gym together, arm in arm» 😳

Due to his injury problems last season, it may not make sense for the Ducks to trade Zegras this summer. After all, his value is likely the lowest it has been since he was drafted, coming off just a 15 point season. The previous year he scored 23 goals and had 65 points and he was 2nd in Calder voting the year before that.

There are rumors that Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks might be available now. However his value is probably the lowest since he entered into the NHL. On the other side, he already showed in last seasons he could be great offensive forward for many years.

Recent rumors surrounding Zegras have actually been very contradictory. General Manager Pat Verbeek has denied that the team was shopping him last season. If he is telling the truth, that very well could mean he has every intention of keeping the 23-year-old.

Ducks GM Pat Verbeek says that they were not shopping Trevor Zegras prior to the trade deadline:

«It’s a situation there that everybody is speculating on. We want Z to play with us. Hopefully he can get through this injury pretty quick and get back on the ice.»

Whether or not that is the case remains to be seen. After all, actions speak louder than words so we will just have to wait and see what happens with Zegras this summer.
