Including how Michael Strahan is instead spending his time off

GOOD Morning America has gone on without its regular host Michael Strahan as he was nowhere to be found during Monday’s episode.

Instead, Michael took the day off to focus on his daughter Sophia’s milestone.

When GMA kicked off the week with a live episode on Monday, usual hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos were joined by Will Reeve, as well as meteorologist Ginger Zee.

However, Robin and George’s co-host Michael, 52, wasn’t at his spot behind the desk.

While he was not reporting on the news, the TV personality spent his Monday sending off his 19-year-old daughter Sophia to college.

Michael’s ex-wife and mother to Sophia, Jean Muggli, shared a selfie alongside the teen on Instagram on Sunday, as the duo both smiled for the camera.

“With my girl Sophia at Wrightsville Beach!” she wrote as the caption.

“Tomorrow headed to Duke University to start sophomore year.”

Fans were quick to send their best as one person wrote, “Sophia is smart, kind, and a beautiful person. I’m sure she’s rocking it at Duke!”

“So exciting. This will be a great year for all!” another shared.

Sophia also took to her own Instagram to share pics from her last getaway before school.

“Home for the weekend,” Sophia wrote next to a batch of photos showing her posing with a horse on a ranch, as well as a pic featuring her mom.

Sophia’s twin sister, Isabella, was quick to play the sibling role, poking fun in the comments sections.

“Cute, you used my horse for a prop,” Isabella, 19, wrote.

Isabella, who had been battling a brain tumor, revealed earlier this summer that she is now cancer-free eight months following her diagnosis.

“Everything was clear. Cancer-free and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October,” Isabella said on her YouTube channel after getting an MRI and reviewing her results.

“I miss my doctors already and everyone who’s helped me because they’re all so nice,” she added at the time.

During her battle, Sophia was able to show her support for her twin sister in numerous ways, including attending a Shave and Buzz event held at Duke University.

The event helped raise money for teens and young adults battling cancer.

Sophia also spoke about how proud she was of her sister during her fight.

SUPPORTIVE SISTER

“I’m so lucky to have the most amazing sister and best friend in the world,” she said on Instagram in January.

“The last few months have been so much harder than we could have ever imagined, but it’s made me realize just how strong you are,” she shared in the emotional post.

“You inspire me and I’m so proud of you. Us forever.”

The twins have shared numerous photos together, leading fans to praise their bond.

Sophia’s kind message came after Isabella appeared on GMA to discuss her cancer fight.

Isabella, who attends The University of Southern California, was open about her journey, revealing she first noticed something was wrong while at school.

“That’s when I definitely noticed headaches, nausea, couldn’t walk straight,” she said while speaking with her father’s GMA co-host Robin.

Michael also chimed in at the time during the broadcast, telling viewers just how brave his daughter had been to open up.

“She’s always been strong and this is something that is so personal that I didn’t know that it would be something that she would want to share. I’m extremely proud,” he said.
