During a dramatic interruption to Good Morning Britain’s usual programming, viewers were hit with the bombshell that Just Stop Oil campaigners had stormed a private airfield at Stansted Airport.

The activists sliced through the perimeter at the Greater London hub and sprayed two luxury jets with their trademark orange hue.
Susanna Reid announced breaking news on GMB

As the ITV morning show unfolded on Thursday, presenters Susanna Reid and Adil Ray were tasked with bringing the shocking news to the nation. Halting the programme, Susanna announced: “We have breaking news this morning that the Just Stop Oil activists who we saw at Stone Henge yesterday… Well, a number of other activists this morning have broken into a private airfield at Stansted Airport.”

The broadcast then cut to footage showing the protestors as they breached security, slicing through the fence and proceeding to deface two private jets with vibrant orange paint.

Susanna detailed the incident: “You can see them here cutting through the fence and then defacing two private jets with orange paint,” reports the Express.

She highlighted the location’s link to celebrity travel, adding: “Now this is the airfield where they say Taylor Swift’s private jet is believed to be parked.” However, Susanna quickly clarified: “But this was not one of the jets which was attacked.”

Adding further details to the unfolding drama, Adil chimed in: “Now it comes a day after protestors from the same group sprayed parts of Stone Henge with orange powder paint.”

In a bold move, two Just Stop Oil supporters infiltrated the airfield around 5am on Thursday, targeting the aircraft with fire extinguishers loaded with the bright orange paint, according to the group’s members.

The duo involved in the high-profile Stansted airfield incident have been identified as Jennifer Kowalski, 28, a former sustainability manager hailing from Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, and Cole Macdonald, 22, from the seaside city of Brighton.

Just Stop Oil went to Twitter to share their stance: “Jennifer and Cole cut the fence into the private airfield at Stansted where taylorswift13’s jet is parked, demanding an emergency treaty to end fossil fuels by 2030.”

Following the event, Good Morning Britain audiences took to social media platforms to voice their opinions on the act of vandalism, with one viewer posting: “Probably best to stop promoting them on your show It’s exactly what they want.”

Another voiced their concern saying: “How can they expect public support when they are going to bring into question public safety, people are nervous about flying as it is?”

Meanwhile, someone named Craig weighed in: “This isn’t breaking news. It’s 2 bomps vandalising a fence and spray painting 2 private jets, you’re giving them exactly what they want.”
