Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever emerged victorious in the Saturday game against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky, scoring 71-70. Pacers Guard Tyrese Haliburton was present to support Clark and the Fever as they took on the Sky. This was the second win for the Fever this season. In the intense game, Clark, a highly anticipated player for the Fever, scored 11 points, made six assists, and grabbed eight rebounds during her 37 minutes on the court. Meanwhile, Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever guard, contributed 18 points, two assists, and two rebounds.
The game was highly anticipated by WNBA fans due to the rivalry between Clark and Sky forward Angel Reese. The rivalry began during the college basketball series when Clark made a “you can’t see me” gesture toward Reese, and Reese reciprocated the same gesture towards Clark. The Saturday game was the first time Clark and Reese faced off after both players made their WNBA debut. Reese’s performance was not impressive, as she finished with 8 points, one assist, and 13 rebounds during her 30 minutes of play.
Caitlin Clark praised Angel Reese before the game
Tyrese Haliburton was spotted sitting courtside with his girlfriend, Jade Jones. When they were caught on camera, they shared a cute “Oh, Hey” gesture with the fans. Fans were impressed after watching the video of the couple supporting Clark and had various reactions. One fan wrote, “Love the support from NBA players! Great to see this!” while another fan reacted, “Love to see it.”
Clark, who joined the WNBA Legends to achieve 50+ points and 15+ assists in their first three career games, praised Reese during an interview before the Saturday game. She stated, “Reese has been so dominant at what she does ever since we played in high school.”
On Sunday, Clark will be back in action against the New York Liberty at the Barclays Center.
