Davante Adams has admitted that former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers has been in his ear about a possible reunion in New York.
Adams and Rodgers were one of the most dangerous one-two punches in the NFL between 2016 and 2021, but they’re both playing for other teams, with the former a member of the Las Vegas Raiders and the latter now on the Jets’ roster.
Rodgers is apparently keen on a reunion, according to Adams, who was a guest on Kay Adams’ Up & Adams podcast this week.
While the two of them communicate and reminisce about old times, Adams has made it clear that he is a Raider, and Rodgers is also fully aware of his position.
“He’s in the ear,” the wideout told Kay. “But it’s not as easy. Obviously, we can get together and talk about the old times and the potential of doing this and that. But like I said, I’m a Raider and he knows that.”
The Timing Just Isn’t Right For A Davante Adams-Aaron Rodgers Reunion
Davante Adams grew disenchanted with the Raiders after Derek Carr was benched at the end of the 2022 season but is happy playing for new coach Antonio Pierce, who quickly turned things around after being appointed as an interim replacement for Josh McDaniels.
Pierce has since landed the head coaching position on a permanent basis and is heading into what he hopes will be his first full season in charge of the team.
Rodgers would have had an easier time convincing his former wide receiver to force his way out of Vegas had McDaniels still been around, but Adams publicly urged the Raiders to give Pierce the job, even threatening to leave. It would be a terrible look if he left now.
